You never said where you came from
You just appeared one cold grey dawn morning
Like an illusion built on sand
Part apparition, part foreign land

No need to be afraid
There's nothing left for you to lose

You never told me what you want
I didn't know you'd come to haunt me then
I was a seed blowing in the wind
A butterfly on the card you pinned me to

Tell me the price I'm gonna have to pay
Since I first saw you that cold grey day

You never told me it would end
That I would break instead of bend to you
Everything just seems so unreal
When will the scars begin to heal on me?

(McGowan) This is about perfect. How he can compose those guitar riffs? And the harmonies on the same place, listen on 0:57. I am shakin' here. -- Jore

Pretty depressing stuff, but I like to think it's got a bit of a 'feel' to it. The bongos and mandolin worked in well – it almost sounds as if I know what I'm doing with the damn mandolin! – Davy
